The Masters of Science Association (MScA) is the representative body of the students in the MSc program at the Ivey Business School. The MScA derives its duties, responsibilities, and powers from this Constitution. It is the purpose and duty of the MScA to secure and promote the interests and welfare of the MSc students, inclusive of all CEMS, International Business (IB) students, Business Analytics (BA), and Digital Management (DM) students.

The role of the MScA in the MSc in Management Program is very important, as it allows for our current students to be involved within the Ivey Community and to have the opportunity to build a unique identity with each incoming class.

The four guiding principles below will be followed in spirit and in practice by MScA:

Collaboration

The MScA will work with all relevant stakeholders, including but not limited to, MScA executives, Program Services, Ivey faculty, MScA Clubs, HBAA, MBAA, external organizations, the London community and the student body in order to maximize the MSc student experience.

Accountability

The MScA will ensure that all MSc operations are transparent and all the MScA executives are responsible for their individual and collective decisions. The MScA will be responsible for representing the student ideas, advocating for students on relevant issues, and building up Ivey branding whenever possible.

Inclusivity

The MScA will strive to include the majority of students in the events and activities, in order to maximize the aggregate value for the most number of MSc students. The MScA will also protect minority interests to ensure all student needs are at least considered during the decision making process. The MScA will foster an environment of inclusivity for all MSc students, as Ivey students first, across MSc streams and cohorts.

Results

The MScA will regularly and accurately measure the value it provides to constituents. The MScA will strive to frequently communicate with its stakeholders to maintain accountability. The MScA executives will adopt a growth mindset, whereby members of the team are given opportunities to take on new challenges and develop.

Mission Statement

The MSc Association will be governed by a commitment to the following three responsibilities:

Internal:

Foster an environment that promotes the development of strong social and professional relationships among students in the program, including each term of CEMS exchange students.

External:

Work to consistently increase the reputation and awareness of the MSc program. This includes outreach activities on behalf of the class, as well as the fostering of opportunities for direct relationship-building between the MSc class, HBA and MBA programs, alumni, and external institutions.

Administrative:

Build the infrastructure/processes required to communicate effectively with the class and administration. These processes operate in both directions: from the class to administration and vice-versa. The council will be welcoming to all opinions and ideas.
